Mouse: P.I. For Hire Receives Performance Upgrades on Switch 2

Fumi and PlaySide have rolled out the initial corrective update for their detective-themed first-person shooter, 'Mouse: P.I. For Hire', available on the Switch 2 platform. This update targets a range of technical issues, aiming to refine the user experience. Additionally, the development teams have confirmed that a more extensive patch is in the pipeline, which will bring further improvements to performance, optimization, and overall gameplay quality.

The recently deployed update, version 1.0.6, for 'Mouse: P.I. For Hire' on the Nintendo Switch 2, tackles several critical areas. Players can expect fixes for game crashes, resolution of progression-blocking bugs, and the elimination of sound distortions previously encountered in menu interfaces. The patch also addresses specific issues with side quests, ensuring smoother mission completion. These adjustments are designed to enhance stability and address immediate concerns reported by players since the game's launch.

A significant focus of the current patch includes specific bug resolutions such as rectifying a crash tied to setting the game language to Traditional Chinese and refining Simplified Chinese translations for greater precision. Graphical anomalies, including a black screen issue in 'The Reel Deal' level when lens distortion was disabled, have been resolved. Moreover, collision problems in the 'Mouseburg Opera' mini-boss arena, which could trap players, have been fixed. The update also improves enemy pathfinding in the 'Quagmire' level, preventing them from getting stuck, and refines the final boss's movement patterns in 'The Reel Deal' encounter.

Further enhancements in version 1.0.6 ensure consistent triggering of D-Namite throwing animations and correct instances where shotgun-wielding enemies failed to inflict damage. Progression blockers in 'Curdsville' have been cleared, and a loop issue with controller rebindings has been resolved. Players now have the option to opt out of data tracking in the settings menu. Sound effects for menu interactions have been corrected, and game over music now respects the 'Toggle Licensed Music' setting. Various quest-related bugs, such as collecting clues, getting stuck in geometry, and missing NPCs or quest items, have also been addressed. The patch additionally improves background process cleanup upon closing the game, strengthens quest handling to prevent softlocks, and updates the in-game Privacy Policy. Finally, issues preventing blueprint collection and the disappearance of active jobs after completing 'Far Wetlands' have been fixed, alongside an issue where weapon scaling damage persisted across game sessions.

Looking ahead, Fumi and PlaySide are preparing a more comprehensive second patch for 'Mouse: P.I. For Hire'. This upcoming update is expected to introduce further quality-of-life enhancements, additional bug corrections, and crucial improvements to game performance and optimization. Specific details regarding this future update are slated to be released in the coming weeks, promising an even more polished and enjoyable experience for players on the Switch 2.
