Monster Hunter Wilds Set to Unveil Massive Expansion

The base game is also receiving its last substantial update, focusing on performance improvements and reintroducing popular in-game events, setting the stage for future content.

Unveiling the Next Chapter: A Grand Expansion for Monster Hunter Wilds

Anticipating a Colossal Expansion for Monster Hunter Wilds

The producer of Monster Hunter Wilds, Ryozo Tsujimoto, has confirmed that the game will receive a substantial expansion. This upcoming content is designed to be on par with the scale and impact of the 'Iceborne' and 'Sunbreak' expansions that graced 'Monster Hunter World' and 'Monster Hunter Rise,' respectively. The announcement was made during a video commemorating the first anniversary of the game, coinciding with the details of the final major update for the core game, version 1.041.

The Imminent Release of Expansion Details

Tsujimoto conveyed his excitement, stating that the development team is actively engaged in creating this large-scale addition. Players eager for new challenges and content can expect more information to be revealed during the summer months.

Celebrating the First Anniversary with Event Rotations and New Challenges

The game's anniversary celebration is scheduled from February 18 to March 19, marking a transition period. During this event, all past seasonal activities will make a comeback on a rotational basis. Furthermore, a new 10-star quest difficulty will be introduced, featuring the return of four powerful Arch-tempered monsters alongside a new permanent event quest for the Arch-tempered Arkveld. Successfully completing these high-difficulty quests will reward players with 'Timeworn Charms,' which increase the likelihood of obtaining rare talismans.

Revisiting Past Festivals and New Collaborations

All previously held 'Festival of Accord' events will also rotate weekly, providing another opportunity for players to acquire any seasonal gear they might have missed. Additionally, a special quest related to the upcoming 'Monster Hunter Stories 3' will be available, offering unique crossover content.

Ongoing Performance Enhancements

Capcom has reiterated its commitment to optimizing the game's performance. The 1.041 update includes further CPU and GPU optimizations. Players will now have the option to select different levels of detail (LOD) quality, and the development team is meticulously reviewing memory-related processes to identify and implement additional improvements. The studio has consistently rolled out performance patches over the past few months, and these efforts are visibly yielding positive results.
