To reach this early salt cache, navigate directly southeast from your Lifepod. You will pass the Welcome Center on your right and descend into a zone marked by two prominent pillars and a large Coral Crab on the left. Inside this cave, alongside Chap's habitat and black box, you will find two pieces of salt, easily identifiable by their light orange, crystalline appearance, resembling mashed crisps. Fortunately, this salt also regenerates over time, allowing for repeated collection.

Once your initial needs are met, more extensive salt deposits can be found in other regions of the alien ocean. The volcanic vent area, located to the far east of the Lifepod, is another significant source.
