Corsair's Latest PC Innovations: A Transparent Power Supply and a Military-Inspired Case

Corsair unveils its innovative transparent power supply and a rugged military-inspired PC case at Computex, blending cutting-edge aesthetics with robust functionality for enthusiasts.

Experience Unrivaled PC Design and Performance

The Allure of Transparency: Corsair's See-Through Power Supply

The gaming hardware industry has long embraced transparent components, but Corsair's transparent power supply unit (PSU) offers a unique visual experience. While the idea of seeing a PSU's internal workings might seem unconventional, Corsair ensures its HX1000i Shift Crystal is not only visually captivating but also engineered for peak performance.

The HX1000i Shift Crystal: A Glimpse Inside

First introduced as a prototype, the HX1000i Shift Crystal is now a tangible product, complete with official specifications. This platinum-certified ATX PSU features a dynamic RGB 140 mm fan and an impressive ten-year warranty. Corsair emphasizes the meticulous design of its custom capacitors, asserting that if internal components are to be visible, they must be both aesthetically pleasing and exceptionally built.

Innovative Cable Management with Shift Design

As a Shift series power supply, the HX1000i features power connectors positioned on its side rather than the rear. This thoughtful design greatly simplifies cable routing, making installation easier and contributing to a cleaner, more organized internal PC layout, especially in compatible cases.

Introducing the Warthog PC Case: Military-Inspired Durability

Alongside its translucent PSU, Corsair has also launched the Warthog PC case. This military-themed mid-tower case draws inspiration from the classic Vengeance C70, which debuted in 2012. The Warthog is designed to accommodate substantial hardware, supporting GPUs up to 430 mm, PSUs up to 200 mm, and multiple fans, including three 120 mm fans at the front, side, and top, plus one 120 mm fan at the rear and bottom.

Design and Functionality: The Warthog's Unique Features

The Warthog's olive drab color evokes a strong sense of military ruggedness, reminiscent of iconic vehicles. Its standout features include fighter jet-inspired controls for power and integrated handles for easy transport. While its design leans towards the extreme, it offers a distinctive and robust option for PC builders looking for a military aesthetic.

Corsair's Diverse Offerings at Computex

Beyond the transparent PSU and Warthog case, Corsair's Computex showcase also included other innovations. These comprise the iCUE Link Titan II 360 RX RGB and LCD coolers, the 2800X RS-ARGB case, and an elegant wooden Frame 5000D case. Despite the variety, the transparent power supply remains a highlight, offering a fascinating, albeit intimate, look into the heart of a PC's power delivery system
